MORTON PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Meeting for Morton Parish Council held on Monday 6 September 2021 at 6.30 pm.
15 minute public forum - no members of the public in attendance
In Attendance - Cllr Parry (Chair), Cllr Allison (Vice-Chair), Cllr Butroid, Cllr Youngman, Cllr Bull, C. Graves (Clerk)
1. Apologies For Absence - Cllr Panter, Cllr Ward, Cllr Gott, Cllr Snee
2. Minutes of the Meeting held on 2 August 2021 - Approved by all Parish Councillors. Proposed as a true and accurate record by Cllr Allison. Seconded by Cllr Butroid.
3. Declarations of Interest - No declarations of interest noted.
4. Matters Arising and Review of Outstanding Items
a. Crime Vandalism and Antisocial Behaviour - No representation from local policing team or report received. Clerk to make enquiries with the Neighbourhood Police Inspector regarding Community Protection Notice which is aimed to prevent unreasonable behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community's quality of life. Cllr Youngman had heard reports that a Williams trailor had been stolen locally.
b. Councillors Update - Cllr Allison and Cllr Youngman gave an update on the litter pick that had recently taken place on Saturday 28 August and thanked those who participated. Thanks also to the Village Hall Committee for allowing use of the Hall for refreshments afterwards. Discussion took place and it was agreed that a possible further pick could be arranged for around Easter to include the local scouts. Clerk to submit locations to WLDC for 3 additional dog waste bins, Trentside, Front Street and Mill Lane.
c. SID Signage - Cllr Allison reported that plans were in place to install the solar sign in the next couple of weeks. The spare bracket had been repositioned as previously discussed. Further data analysis would be available for the next meeting.
d. Bus Shelter Walkerith Road - Clerk reported that grant application had been submitted detailing the Bushby Shelter from Littlethorpe of Leicester.
5. Accounts - Financial statement for August distributed prior to meeting. No questions. Proposed Cllr Youngman. Seconded Cllr Allison.
6. Burial Ground - No update.
7. Planning Matters
(a) 143596 - Morton Stores, 1 Crooked Billet Street, Morton. Planning application for part change of use of shop (Class E) to fish shop (sui generis). Councillors to refer to Morton Parish Council's Planning Application Assessment Template and submit comments to clerk.
8. Playing Field and School Facilities - Correspondence had been received from Morton Trentside regarding damage to the school fence. Cllr Parry had assessed the damage and Clerk would seek clarification from DWG Groundcare. Cllr Parry and Clerk to assess Community Room within the next week.
9. Councillor Attendance - As the Council were now once again meeting face to face, Cllr Parry advised that all Councillors would receive correspondence regarding attendance at meetings.
10.Newsletter - As discussed at previous meeting, newsletter had folded. However, Cllr Youngman advised that she believed some residents were interested in setting up and distributing the newsletter again.
